at night,on our way from amsterdam to great yarmouth over the north sea (17sept 1991)
tough weather during the night. we take away most of the sail
 at sea, a nice Bf 4 to 5 at 19 sept 1991
two hours later, mithrandir upside down, due to a stuck mainsheet. a resue team is brought in
trijnie did find her contact lenses and my watertight 35mm camera
the fisherman towed mithrandir to southwold. the mast broke due to hitting the sea floor
we have luck !! big cranes are available due to works on the quay
this is not what I expected
a sad view, i build her for a great part myself
disaster. over the night mithrander hangs in the slings
matresses take a lot of water
the clock stopped at 13.10 o'clock, just like in suspence movies
 useless in this way
early in the morning, mithrandir will be placed on concrete blocks
two cranes, luckely working on the quay of the harbour, will help us the next afternoons
what has still value? during the night sheets are stolen.
 our english helpers
the big trick, turning mithrandir back to normal
 the workers are very careful
mithrandir again fit to float normal
a sad night southwold, I start feeling numb due to lack of sleep and having to solve problems continuously.
 RNLI rescue station of southwold
my friends simon and willem arrive. now every thing will be okay. I, eddy get a complete blackout
on the sea shore we find jackets, hair shampoo and more. the inhabitants bring many items to mithrandir
preparing for a jury rig. lots of work. simon is a boat builder
mounting a short jury rig to sail back mithrandir to the netherlands
